Chiamaka Nwakeze is an honors graduate of Harvard University where she delivered one of the commencement orations to an audience of approximately 32,000 individuals. At Harvard, Chiamaka majored in Neurobiology and received a Certificate in Mind, Brain and Behavior. She was also named Vice President of the Harvard Premedical Society for two, consecutive years and Editor-in-Chief of Harvard’s undergraduate neuroscience publication, among a myriad of other leadership positions at Harvard. Chiamaka also tutored other Harvard undergraduates and local students in writing, the sciences, and public speaking and is very excited to share her expertise with students at Consocio.

After graduating, Chiamaka was named a Rhodes scholar finalist and has worked in the lab of world-renowned scientist Dr. Tom Maniatis at the Columbia University Medical Center since 2010. She has also written for news organizations, including the Science Recorder, an online website that summarizes science news and events and has co-authored original research in the internationally recognized journals, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) and Neuron. In her spare time, Chiamaka loves to read and is very happy to share what she’s learned with interested students.
