Brent R. Bio.

My name is Brent, and I love teaching English, because I can connect with my students on a very real and personal level. I very much enjoy helping them develop their skills and achieve their goals. I believe it is very important to tailor lessons to students’ needs and to give the students lots of challenges so that they are always growing and learning.

I have worked in this field for more than 12 years. I currently teach English at a university in Tokyo. I have taught students from over 40 countries.

Before becoming a full-time English teacher I spent many years working in banking and business development. I also worked in research marketing for the film industry for several years, so I have broad and deep understanding of English business language requirements.

I am American, but I lived in Japan for 7 years. My hometown in Japan is the city of Fukuoka. I now live in Asheville, North Carolina, in the southern part of the US. Asheville is a wonderful place with amazing mountains, delicious beer, and lots of wildlife—such as elk and bear. Asheville is surrounded by the

Great Smoky Mountains and there are five national parks within a short drive of the city. In fact, many movies have been shot here, including Dirty Dancing, The Hunger Games, The Last of the Mohicans, and many more. Asheville has been called the Paris of the South because of all of the delightful restaurants and artisan shops. The weather here is mild all year round and you can always enjoy the outdoors, which is one of my favorite things to do.

I love playing and watching soccer, and I am an avid outdoor enthusiast. Whenever the chance arises, I try to go climbing, cycling, or hiking.
